Scarface's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Frans Geurtsen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Scarface's Serafin Sesuldo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kılıç Uğural. That made the score 1-2 after 19 minutes of play. 22 minutes into the match, Scarface's Serafin Sesuldo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kılıç Uğural narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Felice Fiore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frans Geurtsen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristiano Ramundo might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Felice Fiore. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristiano Ramundo ran back to his position shaking his head. Felice Fiore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frans Geurtsen in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute Doğuş Vecihi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felice Fiore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute Fidel Lastur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kılıç Uğural saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Kılıç Uğural showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafin Sesuldo, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. 75 minutes into the match, Scarface's goalkeeper Felice Fiore had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frans Geurtsen. Felice Fiore made an important save on a dangerous shot by Doğuş Vecihi in the 77th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dario Rito in the 78th minute of play forced Öz Bern SK's goalkeeper Kılıç Uğural to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
