With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dinei Pinheiro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edgardo Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 15 minutes into the match, SeleSantos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edgardo Silva came free, but Dinei Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dinei Pinheiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgardo Silva's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. The New England Minas fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when New England Minas's Edgardo Silva looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 22 minutes SeleSantos FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Glen Conklin who took care of the corner kick. 24 minutes into the match, SeleSantos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tio Lio came free, but Dinei Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Glen Conklin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dinei Pinheiro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedrão Falcão during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Pedrão Falcão hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. If Edgardo Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 29 minutes into the match, SeleSantos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edgardo Silva came free, but Dinei Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, New England Minas's Jeremy Nicholas got control of the ball when Niilo Mikkola tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 51st minute, Edgardo Silva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dinei Pinheiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Dinei Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgardo Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. 57 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goal looked a bit too open when Jacobo Casado came free, but Jeremy Nicholas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edgardo Silva in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dinei Pinheiro saved SeleSantos FC from getting behind. After 69 minutes of play, SeleSantos FC's Jacobo Casado made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jeremy Nicholas was left in no man's land by his defense there! New England Minas had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
