Mané Lara might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dida Taffarel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mané Lara ran back to his position shaking his head. Mané Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mané Lara in the 12th minute of the match. German Cano spun around in front of the goal 18 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Joinville United - FSCMZ's goal. After some careless play in the Marquês de Herval defense, Mané Lara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dida Taffarel. The Marquês de Herval fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dida Taffarel should have stopped the shot. 27 minutes into the match, Mané Lara had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dida Taffarel. Marquês de Herval's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mané Lara was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfredo Martins made a kick off. Dida Taffarel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alesandro Coutinho in the 54th minute. Guilherme Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from German Cano in the 59th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mané Lara in the 61st minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Marquês de Herval booed when Joinville United - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guilherme Catarinense made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The Joinville United - FSCMZ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Joinville United - FSCMZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
