An unexpectedly hard shot by Niilo Mikkola in the 25th minute of play forced Seterma Tractors's goalkeeper Patrik Sikström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th match minute, Seterma Tractors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Acácio Santana to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ademir Tande in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dinei Pinheiro saved SeleSantos FC from getting behind. When Ademir Tande came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Seterma Tractors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ademir Tande couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ademir Tande was the one to do the kick off.
