An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 12th minute of play forced C.A.MALVINAS.ARG's goalkeeper Edu Atila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilfredo Maidana, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After 16 played minutes C.A.MALVINAS.ARG got a freekick which was hit by Severo Rosio. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kerrigan Branson during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. With his leg Jonathan Ferrant managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when C.A.MALVINAS.ARG's Wilfredo Maidana fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilfredo Maidana in the 35th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led to C.A.MALVINAS.ARG's Generoso Matai getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. C.A.MALVINAS.ARG's Edu Atila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edu Atila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the game, Adriano Di Domenico cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Wilfredo Maidana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 53rd minute Wilfredo Maidana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Wilfredo Maidana scored 2-1 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilfredo Maidana's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilfredo Maidana in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Wilfredo Maidana came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the game, C.A.MALVINAS.ARG's Wilfredo Maidana nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Edu Atila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joshua Secada in the 82nd minute of play. After 85 minutes, Adriano Di Domenico made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Edu Atila didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. In the 91st minute of the game Eurico Mesquita made a throw-in which Adan Galo played forward. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. C.A.MALVINAS.ARG had played much better football throughout.
