In the 5th minute of the match Costa Rica got a corner. Jämjö IFK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Axel Tasis ran over to the corner to take the kick. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Pelle Flinck showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. Eliseo Noboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 26 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Jämjö IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ludwig Waller didn't get a good kick on the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Pelle Flinck came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Axel Tasis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Dan Bergstedt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Axel Tasis in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dan Bergstedt saved Jämjö IFK from getting behind. 45 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pelle Flinck.

If Axel Tasis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 54thth minute of the game Pelle Flinck who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Patrick Hedling fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jämjö IFK's protests and gave Patrick Hedling a yellow card for diving instead. Dan Bergstedt made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Axel Tasis sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Jämjö IFK booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ludwig Waller during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Jämjö IFK getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Ludwig Waller hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Puig got free with Dan Bergstedt in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dan Bergstedt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Axel Tasis in the 80th minute. Alan Moruga's late challenge caught a Jämjö IFK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alan Moruga helped the player get up and apologised. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. The audience held their breath when Patrick Hedling in the 86th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Benito Sanz's left hand side. In the 88th minute, Pelle Flinck made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Jämjö IFK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 92nd minute, when Axel Tasis scored to the left of an out of position Dan Bergstedt, making the score, 2-1.
