Scarlet Speedster's Naldo Proença played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 7th minute of play. Naldo Proença made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 11th minute of play. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when Scarlet Speedster's Fausto Mendonça fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Luis Andino might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Naldo Proença. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luis Andino ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 37th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 40th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Naldo Proença was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Scarlet Speedster's Ryszard Janiczek quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Primitivo Andino, made in the 43rd minute of the game. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fausto Mendonça stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Naldo Proença made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. After 55 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Andino. 57 minutes into the match, Scarlet Speedster's goalkeeper Naldo Proença had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Naldo Proença to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Mendonça in the 63rd minute of the match. A hard shot 65 in the game by Cristian Sancho from a close distance when the talented Naldo Proença managed to make a qualified save. Scarlet Speedster's players were relieved. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fausto Mendonça's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Daniel Zoritas short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got Naldo Proença to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 78th minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Scarlet Speedster throughout the match.
