Deportivo Empate's Kristoffer Martinsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 9th minute of play. Ingmar Wiman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute got a chance for a shot 12th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Kristoffer Martinsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great ball. Nickolai Skivild was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 35th minute. Deportivo Empate's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ingmar Wiman to make the kick off. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingmar Wiman, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. The corner ended in Justo Mano almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. After 95 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. Deportivo Empate's Justo Mano couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 96th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ecuador. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Deportivo Empate.
