Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Costa Rica's Axel Tasis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Mendonça in the 2nd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fausto Mendonça scored 0-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Scarlet Speedster's Fausto Mendonça. But to his dismay, Fausto Mendonça quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 20 minutes into the match, Fausto Mendonça had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fausto Mendonça was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Fausto Mendonça kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Mendonça in the 27th minute of the match. After 29 minutes of play, Scarlet Speedster's Fausto Mendonça made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fausto Mendonça scored 0-8 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fausto Mendonça in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fausto Mendonça was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Fausto Mendonça's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. In the 63rd minute Aaron Alcocer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Naldo Proença saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Raigo Vananurm had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raigo Vananurm was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-12. Fausto Mendonça might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fausto Mendonça ran back to his position shaking his head. After 72 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Costa Rica! The referee gave Scarlet Speedster a penalty, 73 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Váldson Bittencourt, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. 0-13. Fausto Mendonça received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Fausto Mendonça slotted it home off the left post making it 0-14 in the 76th minute. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Fausto Mendonça kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. In the 84th minute, Fausto Mendonça made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-16. Ryszard Janiczek hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. In the 92nd minute, Fausto Mendonça reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 0-18. Fausto Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Scarlet Speedster played a much better game than Costa Rica and deserved their victory. The Costa Rica players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
