The audience thought a goal was coming when Sanid Škoro got free with Benito Sanz in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marick Jonge in the 9th minute of play. After 9 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Benito Sanz was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Faik Uludoğan. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marick Jonge went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marick Jonge in the 20th minute of play. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marick Jonge, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. The supporters of Ötüken Türk Gücü booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Ferrant didn't get a good kick on the ball. Efrain Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. If Marick Jonge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sanid Škoro in the 52nd minute of the match. After having played for 53 minutes, Aaron Alcocer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aaron Alcocer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 54 played minutes Ötüken Türk Gücü got a freekick which was hit by Naohiro Achenbach. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Marick Jonge kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. 71 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Marick Jonge came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Eliseo Noboa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sanid Škoro, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Tasis in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rubio Zalaya prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eliseo Noboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 93 minutes into the match, Sabri Eraksan notched a goal, 9-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ötüken Türk Gücü walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
