Roque Gabon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. 35 minutes into the match, Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Igor Pandilovski. In the 38th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dylan Sarmiento to maneuver through the defense. Dylan Sarmiento charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dylan Sarmiento the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dylan Sarmiento kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot. In a very dangerous position, a player in Faro querandi fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 64th minute. Penalty! The supporters of Faro querandi booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abraham Alguacil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Igor Pandilovski in the 73rd minute of play. In the 75th minute, Polad Bastia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. With an all-out effort, Panama's Roque Gabon threw himself towards the right post 87 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tomas Berganza, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Panama's Abraham Alguacil was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Roque Gabon in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.
