Peru's Anthony Alvarado quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ciprian Joldea, made in the 12th minute of the game. In the 15th minute Cordera Abella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Cordera Abella tried to sneak it across the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stéphane Brault narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 24th minute, Lucio Eladio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pepsi Fuchibol Clu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. After a rather tough play, Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's Cordera Abella got a free kick in the 35th minute. Stéphane Brault didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julian Murillo went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After 39 minutes, Tiso Abarca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pepsi Fuchibol Clu and the Peru players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th minute, Eliseo Mina got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramon Centurión, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Gitano Abad kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. 59 minutes into the game, Gitano Abad threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The supporters of Pepsi Fuchibol Clu booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luz Tejedor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Pepsi Fuchibol Clu's Lucio Eladio. But to his dismay, Lucio Eladio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Feyyaz Erol in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Peru's Julian Murillo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. Stéphane Brault showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 81st minute of the match. Stéphane Brault took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Mina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 85 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Cordera Abella came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julian Murillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Stéphane Brault tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. In the 95th minute Rafael Gallo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stéphane Brault saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru played a much better game than Pepsi Fuchibol Clu and deserved their victory. The Pepsi Fuchibol Clu players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
