To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Décio Rola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Décio Rola kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. A throw-in in the 19th minute of the game was made by Doni Muli with Décio Rola as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Sjötorp IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robert Andersson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute, Salvador Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Décio Rola sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina got a free kick in the 45th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Décio Rola, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. Roger Fagrell came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 60th minute of play forced Sjötorp IF's goalkeeper Roger Fagrell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Sjötorp IF's Roger Fagrell got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 74th minute, Guillermo Mariano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Roger Fagrell in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
