In the 45th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isidoro Sarmiento to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Berganza to strike the kick off in the second half. Adolph Mcinnes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 76th minute of play. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hank Malacarne, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 81 minutes into the game, when Rudy Addison put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. Alex Cambeiro's late challenge caught a Milan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Panama eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
