Efrain Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the game, Mostafa Muhammed cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Mostafa Muhammed sped through Costa Rica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. Melchor Markel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mostafa Muhammed took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. In the 32nd minute, Mostafa Muhammed ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. 35 minutes into the match, Melchor Markel notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Mostafa Muhammed's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Delmiro Gorka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Puig in the 40th minute of the match. Alexander Carballo's late challenge caught a MOEBIO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexander Carballo helped the player get up and apologised. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mostafa Muhammed in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. After the first half MOEBIO were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes of play, MOEBIO's Mostafa Muhammed made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! MOEBIO made a substitution. Vuk Urgovski replaced Mostafa Muhammed. MOEBIO's Hao Fan Chuan was substituted for Melchor Markel. Efrain Moruga made in the 59th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Eliseo Noboa immediately put the ball in play. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Federico Girotti in the 60th minute of play. Vuk Urgovski struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MOEBIO. If Vuk Urgovski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vuk Urgovski in the 69th minute of play. Benito Sanz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vuk Urgovski showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-8 in the 71 minute of play. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hao Fan Chuan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vuk Urgovski, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 79th minute, Vuk Urgovski reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benito Sanz. The goal made the score 0-9. Hao Fan Chuan scored 0-10 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 86 minutes, Vuk Urgovski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MOEBIO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vuk Urgovski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vuk Urgovski's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Benito Sanz firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a free kick in the 88th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Vuk Urgovski notched a goal, 0-11, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 93 minutes into the match, Federico Girotti notched a goal, 0-12, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz.
