If Abraham Alguacil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcos Cotilla showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 29th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron Barrios to maneuver through the defense. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Niek Wander in the 34th minute. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Rakiewicz in the 36th minute of play. Miguel Miralles kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Witalis Chmielecki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abraham Alguacil, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Panama's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Abraham Alguacil in the 42nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Miralles in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Witalis Chmielecki prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Abraham Alguacil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Witalis Chmielecki having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Berganza was the one to do the kick off. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Radomil Bielatowicz in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Güntekin Enginer in the 61st minute of play. When Tomas Berganza fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Panama's protests and gave Tomas Berganza a yellow card for diving instead. In the 64th minute, Tomas Berganza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
