Maurinho Mendonça was slow to take the kick. During this time Claretiano FC's players had a chance to rest. Claretiano FC were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Peru's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Maurinho Mendonça took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Manu Betancur managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Manu Betancur tried to sneak it across the goal line. Birila Graña showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 16th minute of the match. The Peru players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
