In the 6th minute, Navalito's Nicanor Parra dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With 16 minutes on the clock, Nazario Urtubia commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 15 minutes into the game, one of Navalito:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eros Villamayor during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 28th minute, Felix Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 31st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Soriano Espiñeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after Navalito's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Soriano Espiñeira quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 35 minutes Navalito's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Soriano Espiñeira in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Soriano Espiñeira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute of the match. In the 48th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Soriano Espiñeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Nicanor Parra had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nicanor Parra was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Soriano Espiñeira having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Soriano Espiñeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Navalito made a substitution. Isidoro Young replaced Nicanor Parra. In the 64th minute Isidoro Young shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Young in the 69th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Navalito's goalkeeper Soriano Espiñeira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carlos Gustavo Caicedo went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Navalito's goalkeeper Soriano Espiñeira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A very nice done corner allowed Agustín Saelices to score against Soriano Espiñeira in Navalito's goal. 3-2 after 79 minutes. In the 83rd minute Isidoro Young shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Navalito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Esquerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Navalito's goalkeeper Soriano Espiñeira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. 90 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Young came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 93 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Young in the 94th minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, Navalito could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
