The referee ignored Arquímedes's protests and gave Danilo Olayo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Arquímedes getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Domingo Librado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Ramon Abila managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Julian Murillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Jeremias Cordario made a huge save. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Arquímedes's goalkeeper Jeremias Cordario, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, Arquímedes's goalkeeper Jeremias Cordario had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jeremias Cordario read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. When the match was over Peru could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Arquímedes throughout the match.
