Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. After 5 minutes of play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leonides Telesforo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Leonides Telesforo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 8th minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leonides Telesforo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leonides Telesforo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 22nd minute of the match, Claudio Echeverri tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 27th minute, Felix Montenegro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leonides Telesforo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 39 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Betão Prestes who took care of the corner kick. In the 42nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Cable a Tierra's Arrigo Corvo got a free kick in the 45th minute. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leonides Telesforo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Leonides Telesforo in the 50th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Bertassi in the 53rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Cable a Tierra's Gavino Egoi got a free kick in the 54th minute. A collision led to Cable a Tierra getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Vitoldas Bilota hit a great ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Narciso Bertassi, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After a rather tough play, Cable a Tierra's Vitoldas Bilota got a free kick in the 69th minute. Leonides Telesforo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Daniel Zorita. Leonides Telesforo made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Cable a Tierra's Leonardo Sigali got a free kick in the 80th minute. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Narciso Bertassi's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Betão Prestes was slow to take the kick. During this time Cable a Tierra's players had a chance to rest. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Leonides Telesforo in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cable a Tierra's Claudio Echeverri got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot 94 in the game by Cristian Sancho from a close distance when the talented Leonides Telesforo managed to make a qualified save. Cable a Tierra's players were relieved. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
