Josemir Lujambio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 16 minutes Colombia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eufemio Yabbarov who took care of the corner kick. Joaquín Guzmán was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After a rather tough play, Atlético Argentino's Meder Fabelo got a free kick in the 19th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eulalio Jago. In the 27th minute, Pastor Nofre left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlético Argentino fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 32nd minute Colombia were awarded a corner. Axel Montenegro went to the cornerflag to take it. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Argentino's zone, Axel Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denis Dolmos came out of the goal and Axel Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eulalio Jago could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Pedro Manzanares made a huge save. Atlético Argentino's Denis Dolmos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 44th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Atlético Argentino's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Montenegro came free, but Denis Dolmos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Atlético Argentino made a substitution. Pascual Ledesma replaced Pastor Nofre. Pascual Ledesma hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Denis Dolmos acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 95th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Abram Sarmiento. If Abram Sarmiento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atlético Argentino were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Colombia for a fine match.
