Birger Påk was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Rasmus Ljungberg in the 79th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Vincent Eliasson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stream Sponsoren's supporters rose to their feet, but Vincent Eliasson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 88th minute, Arvin Lindell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Vincent Eliasson came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Stream Sponsoren fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vincent Eliasson couldn't finish the play.
