After 5 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Axel Montenegro. In the 9th minute, Pascual Carballar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ademar Azevedo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Sporting Clube Patrício's Ademar Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 12th minute of play. In the 15th minute of the match Axel Montenegro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ademar Azevedo skillfully saved the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zarco Lameiras got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Pascual Carballar hit a great ball. Pedro Manzanares was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Manuel Lages. 28 minutes into the game, Tomás Portugal lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomás Portugal in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Colombia's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Zarco Lameiras fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The supporters of Colombia booed when Sporting Clube Patrício was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauro Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Colombia's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Tomás Portugal 43 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. Zarco Lameiras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 62nd minute Tomás Portugal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ademar Azevedo was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Axel Montenegro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. In the 73rd minute of the match, Abram Secada got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ademar Azevedo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Abram Secada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Ademar Azevedo made a huge save. With a little luck, Sporting Clube Patrício's Ademar Azevedo got control of the ball when Abram Secada tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. In the 83rd minute Ignacio Mastache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ademar Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sporting Clube Patrício.
