Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Martin Palermo got the match started through his kick off. If Rubén-Darío Feldmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. La Candela FC's Ruben Sánchez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Zorita in the 12th minute of play. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 20 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Facundo Cadaval. Ruben Sánchez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 22nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 23rd minute of play forced La Candela FC's goalkeeper Ruben Sánchez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ruben Sánchez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Rubén-Darío Feldmann in the 35thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dante Lacasa, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 39th minute Martin Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ruben Sánchez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubén-Darío Feldmann in the 42nd minute of the match. Ruben Sánchez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

After 54 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Cazalla. Martin Palermo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Palermo in the 59th minute of play. In the 67th minute, Mexico's Joel Gaona ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ruben Sánchez. Ruben Sánchez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Palermo in the 74th minute of play. Martin Palermo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Martin Palermo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. In the 86th minute, Walter Samuel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 89 minutes into the match, La Candela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Ruben Sánchez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Luca Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. La Candela FC's Ruben Sánchez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 95th minute of play. The La Candela FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
