Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Filomeno De Putter went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 32 minutes into the match, C. A. Adestiempo Juniors's goalkeeper Honorato Primo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Adestiempo Juniors's Honorato Primo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 45th minute of play. Honorato Primo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 47th minute of play. In the 47th match minute, C. A. Adestiempo Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angel Nuñez to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Filomeno De Putter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Domingos Lencastre tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when C. A. Adestiempo Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pablo Ubarna didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Filomeno De Putter sent off a good shot on target. Adestiempo Juniors defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Honorato Primo. The C. A. Adestiempo Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Honorato Primo should have stopped the shot. In the 80th match minute, C. A. Adestiempo Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pablo Ubarna to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Domingos Lencastre's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. Hilario Roldan charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Adestiempo Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Hilario Roldan. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Domingos Lencastre in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 93 played minutes C. A. Adestiempo Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Octavio Koldobika.
