Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Décio Rola in the 15th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Roger Fagrell made a huge save. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 26th minute, which Roger Fagrell however easily saved by the left post. A collision led to Sjötorp IF getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Andreas Andreasson hit a great ball. With a little luck, Sjötorp IF's Roger Fagrell got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Roger Fagrell in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 37th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Sjötorp IF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. In the 45th minute Décio Rola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Décio Rola in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 47th minute, Décio Rola got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. In the 59th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 61st minute, Décio Rola got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Roger Fagrell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roger Fagrell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. Sjötorp IF's Sebastian Qvarnström got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Andreas Andreasson hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 89th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Sjötorp IF. In the 95th minute, Daniel Zorita had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Zeng Chao Zhen's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zeng Chao Zhen helped the player get up and apologised. Ecuador made a substitution. Luz Palacio replaced Daniel Zorita. Felix Montenegro shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. There was no doubt that Ecuador were the better team. Ecuador's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
