Venezuela's Jose Correa managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Östen Vennersten in the 6 minute of the game. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to MAFFIAN getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Alf Säfström hit a great ball. When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. George Svensson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 18th minute, when Thomas Wassberg scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 1-0. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Thomas Wassberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, MAFFIAN's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Aron Dahlbom reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aron Dahlbom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Aron Dahlbom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 34th minute of the match. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 35th minute. In the 36thth minute of the game Thomas Wassberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. MAFFIAN's Aron Dahlbom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Tomas Illescas almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but MAFFIAN's Aron Dahlbom did a great save. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aron Dahlbom read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thomas Wassberg made a kick off. When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 2-0 when George Svensson sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. MAFFIAN made a substitution. Hugo Nyman replaced Rudolf Josefsson. After 60 minutes, Alf Säfström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MAFFIAN and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. MAFFIAN's Dennis Edström was substituted for George Svensson. MAFFIAN's Torgny Mogren was substituted for Thomas Wassberg. In the 68th minute, Patricio Costa made a precise shot to the right of Aron Dahlbom. MAFFIAN's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aron Dahlbom. Aron Dahlbom dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. In the 77th minute Dennis Edström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Torgny Mogren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Kristoffer Nyberg's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kristoffer Nyberg helped the player get up and apologised. After 87 played minutes MAFFIAN got a freekick which was hit by Kristoffer Nyberg. When MAFFIAN's Torgny Mogren in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. A hard shot 95 in the game by Tomas Illescas from a close distance when the talented Aron Dahlbom managed to make a qualified save. MAFFIAN's players were relieved. Despite being the better team, Venezuela failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
