The crowd rose to their feet as Apoena Ocaña kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 2-0 in the 16 minute of play. If Hondo Arratia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Jonathan Ferrant managed to avoid a goal in the 20thth minute, when Rayo Tharkad's Manolo Lacorte fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 22 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Apoena Ocaña came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Venegas charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
