Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lluc Alen in the 28th minute of play. 30 minutes in the game Dalmu Torre did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Teodosio Ayasti. After 30 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Gisbert. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Jon Fuenmayor sped through Uruguay's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jon Fuenmayor in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kevin Carballal hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Norino Tostado's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Norino Tostado helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Claretiano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norino Tostado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jon Fuenmayor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th match minute, Claretiano FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norino Tostado to maneuver through the defense. Claretiano FC made a substitution. Favila Ribadas replaced Maurinho Mendonça. When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 1-6 when Francisco Seco sped through Claretiano FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Birila Graña. Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Dalmu Torre, made in the 74th minute of the game. Bruno Beldad hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After having played for 77 minutes, Daunte Campuzano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Claretiano FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daunte Campuzano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 84th minute of the match Claretiano FC got a corner. Uruguay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ruben Malta ran over to the corner to take the kick. Birila Graña showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Seco in the 86th minute of the match. After 89 minutes Uruguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ruben Malta who took care of the corner kick. Ruben Malta made a great header on Claretiano FC's corner, it was just that Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso managed to reach the ball for a save. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Kevin Carballal hit a great ball. Daunte Campuzano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Claretiano FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
