Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Turgut Soyuer in the 5th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Azerbaijan's goal looked a bit too open when Turgut Soyuer came free, but Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cankut Wakabayashi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Äliqulu Vermäliyev in the 11th minute of the match. 12 minutes had been played when some careless play by Turkey's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Qaryağdı Isayev was slow to take the kick. During this time Azerbaijan's players had a chance to rest. The throw-in from Sädräddin Cavadov in the 13th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Turkey's Ahmet Boran Aktay. Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Turgut Soyuer's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. In the 18th minute, Turgut Soyuer made a precise shot to the right of Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov. Azerbaijan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Azerbaijan's goalkeeper Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cankut Wakabayashi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faiq Kazimov, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 29th minute Azerbaijan were awarded a corner. Qaryağdı Isayev went to the cornerflag to take it. Azerbaijan's Qaryağdı Isayev was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Cankut Wakabayashi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Turgut Soyuer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov having to make a save. Turgut Soyuer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd play minute Turgut Soyuer came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov. 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Faiq Kazimov to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Turgut Soyuer made a precise shot to the right of Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov. Azerbaijan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Cankut Wakabayashi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mehran Utandıbalayev in the 58th minute of the match. Cankut Wakabayashi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Faiq Kazimov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mehran Utandıbalayev blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cankut Wakabayashi having to make a save. Turgut Soyuer took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov. Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Sädräddin Cavadov hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Turgut Soyuer in the 66th minute of the match. With a little luck, Turkey's Cankut Wakabayashi got control of the ball when Faiq Kazimov tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Turgut Soyuer in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov saved Azerbaijan from getting behind. 72 minutes into the match, Azerbaijan's goal looked a bit too open when Turgut Soyuer came free, but Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Turgut Soyuer went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Turkey's Akif Akın was substituted for Arjen Robben. Turkey made a substitution. Aydın Tor replaced Gürhan Sarıoğlu. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Dos Reis in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Turkey's Servet Sönmez quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Sädräddin Cavadov, made in the 87th minute of the game. Zé Dos Reis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nuşirävan Cäbrayilov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Sädräddin Cavadov made in the 92nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Turkey's Servet Sönmez.
