With a little luck, Turkey's Cankut Wakabayashi got control of the ball when Rogelio Mendiola tried to sneak it across the goal line. Enrique Enoch came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Turkey's Turgut Soyuer. But to his dismay, Turgut Soyuer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Turkey's Servet Sönmez got a free kick in the 45th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Turgut Soyuer was the one to do the kick off. Pablo Soto got a throw-in 52 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Ervigio Ojeda. Peter Talvik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Cankut Wakabayashi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cankut Wakabayashi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogelio Mendiola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Turkey's Cankut Wakabayashi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogelio Mendiola in the 58th minute of play. Chile made a substitution. Alfonso Goicoechea replaced Rogelio Mendiola. In the 63rd minute of the game Juan Ramírez made a throw-in which Carlo Darrigrande played forward. Servet Sönmez hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 65th minute Carlo Darrigrande shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cankut Wakabayashi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Turkey made a substitution. Zé Dos Reis replaced Turgut Soyuer. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Turkey would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
