In the 20th minute of the match AVTK got a corner. Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Oktay Nebahattin ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Oktay Nebahattin almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Peru's Rolando Noboa did a great save. In the 22nd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesário Santiago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, AVTK's goal looked a bit too open when Milagros Fraga came free, but Cesário Santiago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after AVTK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Eliseo Mina fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Cesário Santiago quite easily take care of the ball. In the 29th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Emmanuel Reyes advanced and headed the ball into goal, 2-2 in the 29th minute. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Uygur Kaim in the 35th minute of play. 43 minutes into the game, Uygur Kaim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AVTK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Peru the free kick. Uygur Kaim kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Szczepan Rydz made in the 45th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Stasio Mbappè immediately put the ball in play. Cesário Santiago stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 51st minute Eliseo Mina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesário Santiago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Mina in the 55th minute of play forced AVTK's goalkeeper Cesário Santiago to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julian Murillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cesário Santiago having to interfere. Cesário Santiago made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Luz Tejedor sent off a good shot on target. Cesário Santiago showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Cesário Santiago showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Gallo in the 91st minute of the match. 95 minutes into the match, AVTK's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Gallo came free, but Cesário Santiago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing AVTK to leave the ground with a draw.
