Svenne Berka went to the cornerflag to take it. 9 minutes into the match, Nusnäs IF's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Clodoveo Rojas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 12th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clodoveo Rojas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svenne Berka in the 14th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bai Peng Ning got free with Julio Vera in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 24 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Clodoveo Rojas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee ignored Nusnäs IF's protests and gave Arne Lundberg a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Nusnäs IF's Nils-Erik Caspersson got a free kick in the 44th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Nusnäs IF's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clodoveo Rojas came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arne Lundberg to strike the kick off in the second half. Clodoveo Rojas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 57th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute Bai Peng Ning shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bai Peng Ning's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute of the match Nusnäs IF got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Svenne Berka ran over to the corner to take the kick. Clodoveo Rojas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 80th minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Svenne Berka, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Svenne Berka during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 94 played minutes Nusnäs IF got a freekick which was hit by Svenne Berka. Ecuador played a much better game than Nusnäs IF and deserved their victory. The Nusnäs IF players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
