The supporters of Panama booed when Deportivo Pomelo Nenene was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cosme Shantala didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hilario Ramos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 21 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Micky Capusotto came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee gave Panama a penalty, 69 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Abraham Alguacil, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Deportivo Pomelo Nenene's Hilario Ramos. 6-1. Hilario Ramos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 72nd minute of play. 72 minutes into the game, Tomas Berganza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-1. Hilario Ramos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 80th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hilario Ramos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Panama walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
