Hugo Orlando Gatti breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hugo Orlando Gatti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner led to Peru's Julian Murillo getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Guillermo Monclús could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 28th minute of play forced ☣ ☠ Ᏸɭนę Gђ๏ຮϮຮ ☠ ☣'s goalkeeper Hugo Orlando Gatti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eugenio Jerrold made in the 35th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Erubiel Urtats however managed to control. 36 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erubiel Urtats. In the last second Rolando Noboa throw himself and got hold of the ball when Erubiel Urtats in the 36thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After a rather tough play, Peru's Emmanuel Reyes got a free kick in the 37th minute. Rolando Noboa was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Clemente Cordera. Eugenio Jerrold hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erubiel Urtats to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Clemente Cordera left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ☣ ☠ Ᏸɭนę Gђ๏ຮϮຮ ☠ ☣ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Hugo Orlando Gatti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 56th minute of play. In the 58th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Luz Tejedor got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Hugo Orlando Gatti quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. ☣ ☠ Ᏸɭนę Gђ๏ຮϮຮ ☠ ☣'s 洪国云 quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Moises Gayoso, made in the 59th minute of the game. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by ☣ ☠ Ᏸɭนę Gђ๏ຮϮຮ ☠ ☣'s Clemente Cordera. But to his dismay, Clemente Cordera quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erubiel Urtats, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. ☣ ☠ Ᏸɭนę Gђ๏ຮϮຮ ☠ ☣'s Rickard Pihlberg was substituted for Erasmo Baleren. Milagros Fraga came free with the goalkeeper in the 75th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Hugo Orlando Gatti could save by the left post. Eliseo Mina ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 96 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Anthony Alvarado. With a couple of smart ball manuevers 钱铮震 in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Noboa saved Peru from getting behind. Peru's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
