Ionică Corcoveanu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Mexico's Alberto Tafalla slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ionică Corcoveanu. That made the score 2-1 after 25 minutes of play. In the 28th minute, Filip Pantiș made a precise shot to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Ionică Corcoveanu made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Joel Gaona sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Eintracht Cernavoda's Ionică Corcoveanu got control of the ball when Facundo Cadaval tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ionică Corcoveanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 38th minute. Alberto Tafalla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Ionică Corcoveanu made a huge save. With 43 minutes on the clock, Mihăiţă Jder commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Mexico's Joel Gaona shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 45th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ionică Corcoveanu but with some difficulty. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. Dante Lacasa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mikael Isak went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. In the last second Dante Lacasa throw himself and got hold of the ball when Codrin Izbașa in the 57thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Zorita in the 64th minute of play forced Eintracht Cernavoda's goalkeeper Ionică Corcoveanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Eintracht Cernavoda's Mikael Isak shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-4 in the ordered_time% minute. After 78 minutes Eintracht Cernavoda's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. After recieving a nice pass, Eintracht Cernavoda's Ionel Gâlcă tried to score from far away in the 80th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 89 minutes, Costin Teodoreanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eintracht Cernavoda and the Mexico players grew even worse after the yellow card. 95 minutes into the match, Eintracht Cernavoda's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Ionică Corcoveanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Alberto Tafalla hit a great ball. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mikael Isak in the 99th minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
