In the 6th minute, Luz Tejedor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 10th minute of the match Peru got a corner. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Eliseo Mina heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 15th minute of play forced CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Ludomil Ziomkowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ludomil Ziomkowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ludomil Ziomkowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Efraim Gilabert hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Xande Campbell sent off a good shot on target. After 23 played minutes CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Xande Campbell. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ludomil Ziomkowski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Afonso da Cunha notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Peru's Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 30 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso da Cunha came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru's Julian Murillo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Eustacio Ikatz, made in the 33rd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso da Cunha in the 37th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ludomil Ziomkowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Ludomil Ziomkowski got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Ludomil Ziomkowski in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 58 minutes, David Brás mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ and the Peru players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. In the 78th minute Rambo von Buol-Schaudenstein shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rambo von Buol-Schaudenstein in the 81st minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Ludomil Ziomkowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Liviu Terzian hit a great ball. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Rafael Gallo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ludomil Ziomkowski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Many of Peru's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Peru may have spent more time on the ball, but CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
