Cesário Santiago was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cesário Santiago read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 40th playminute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cesário Santiago prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The AVTK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cesário Santiago should have stopped the shot. 89 minutes into the game, Stasio Mbappè cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-4. Thiago Pliego was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 92nd minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesário Santiago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AVTK were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Chile's much stronger midfield.
