When Emanuel Ocampo fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Honduras's protests and gave Emanuel Ocampo a yellow card for diving instead. Emanuel Ocampo kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Renan de Godoy took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 7th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Villa in the 16th minute of play forced Terreiro's goalkeeper Fernando Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 20 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Carvallo. Lautaro Navarro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Robinho Moreira showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 25 minute of play. After having played for 28 minutes, Robinho Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Terreiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robinho Moreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Honduras's zone, Robinho Moreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal and Robinho Moreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Edmundo Espiga put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Fernando Mota. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robinho Moreira in the 41st minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmundo Espiga made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Esteban Carvallo got a free kick in the 51st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernando Mota prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Márcio Vidal in the 59th minute of play. Fernando Mota came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Honduras's Sebastian Villa. But to his dismay, Sebastian Villa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. With an all-out effort, Honduras's Fernando Mota threw himself towards the right post 70 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edmundo Espiga, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 73 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Robinho Moreira came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Márcio Vidal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fernando Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 77th minute of the match. After 80 minutes of play, Terreiro's Robinho Moreira made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lautaro Navarro was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Terreiro getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Mauro Quintal hit a great ball. After 88 minutes, Márcio Vidal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Terreiro and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Honduras booed when Terreiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Márcio Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robinho Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fernando Mota made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 96th minute. The Terreiro support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
