With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Dionisio Guter tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dante Frascuelo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 8th minute Dionisio Guter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dionisio Guter in the 10th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dionisio Guter got free with Julio Vera in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute of play forced Globalización's goalkeeper Dante Frascuelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dionisio Guter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Juan Txilar sent off a good shot on target. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Dante Frascuelo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Dionisio Guter came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The throw-in from Camilo Gisbert in the 18th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Globalización's Kang Ke Zhen. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dionisio Guter in the 21st minute. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Frascuelo. Dante Frascuelo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 32 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dionisio Guter. In the 36th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Globalización's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Globalización's Dionisio Guter got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Globalización's Aurelian Vorniceanu got a free kick in the 40th minute. Primitivo Andino made in the 45th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Daniel Zorita however managed to control. After some careless play in the Globalización defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Frascuelo. The Globalización fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Frascuelo should have stopped the shot. Globalización made a substitution. Edelmiro Reno replaced Alejandro Ascencio. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dionisio Guter to strike the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Globalización got a freekick which was hit by Luisito Tiadoro. Dante Frascuelo made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 63rdth minute of the game Dionisio Guter who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dionisio Guter in the 68th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Artemio Urbasa scored 1-2 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artemio Urbasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Artemio Urbasa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Artemio Urbasa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. A collision led to Globalización getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Artemio Urbasa hit a great ball. 90 minutes into the game, Artemio Urbasa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Artemio Urbasa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Cristian Sancho kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. After 95 played minutes, Globalización's Charles Spurgeon shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Globalización reached it. In the 96th match minute, Globalización was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Ospin to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew the final whistle, Globalización could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
