Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Axel Tasis started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Lautaro Puig's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Betão Pontes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Cezary Kasiewski struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GKS Katowice. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Juan Rubio got a free kick in the 17th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Ludomir Zacharek came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cezary Kasiewski in the 21st minute of play. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. When the match clock showed 24 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Ludomir Zacharek sped through Costa Rica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ludomir Zacharek in the 29th minute of play. Axel Tasis kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Lautaro Puig succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 36th playminute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Lucjan Werra made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute of the match Juan Rubio shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Betão Pontes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Lucjan Werra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Betão Pontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Puig, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Konrad Komanski charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Konrad Komanski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, GKS Katowice's Konrad Komanski got a free kick in the 74th minute. If Lucjan Werra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute, GKS Katowice's Cezary Kasiewski ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. After 86 minutes of play, GKS Katowice's Lucjan Werra made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lucjan Werra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the GKS Katowice defense, Axel Tasis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Betão Pontes. The GKS Katowice fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Betão Pontes should have stopped the shot. When the match was over GKS Katowice could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Costa Rica throughout the match.
