Denis Urtats showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Mina, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Denis Urtats read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. The supporters of Peru booed when Knight Of Dawn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franco Baresi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dimitry Samyn kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Denis Urtats showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute Teta Grande shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Celedonio Fonda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th match minute, Knight Of Dawn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dimitry Samyn to maneuver through the defense. Peru's Luz Tejedor couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 27th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Knight Of Dawn. 41 minutes into the match, Peru's Eliseo Mina sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Denis Urtats narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, Knight Of Dawn's Denis Urtats got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julian Murillo to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, Knight Of Dawn's Dimitry Samyn seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Dimitry Samyn the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Knight Of Dawn protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dimitry Samyn had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee gave Peru a penalty, 60 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Luz Tejedor, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Knight Of Dawn's Denis Urtats. 1-0. 62 minutes into the game, Peru's Luz Tejedor nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Denis Urtats made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Knight Of Dawn's Gregorio Caton was substituted for Bruno Norino. Knight Of Dawn's Qiu Yuan Jun was substituted for Teta Grande. Knight Of Dawn's Denis Urtats played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 74th minute of play. Milagros Fraga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Denis Urtats tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Denis Urtats saved Knight Of Dawn from getting behind. When Gregorio Caton fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Knight Of Dawn's protests and gave Gregorio Caton a yellow card for diving instead. Gregorio Caton kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. In the 83rd minute, Gregorio Caton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denis Urtats took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Mina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Milagros Fraga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Milagros Fraga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Denis Urtats breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Antonio Tenorio in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Denis Urtats saved Knight Of Dawn from getting behind.
