The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4thth minute of the game Olgierd Gajewski who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Panama's Marcos Cotilla was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 6th minute, ♣ Natural Mystic OFF ♣'s Olgierd Gajewski dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 12th minute Marcelo Masa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute of the match, Marcelo Masa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marcos Cotilla saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Marcelo Masa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Masa in the 18th minute of play. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Saturnino Ibañez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. When Saturnino Ibañez came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the ♣ Natural Mystic OFF ♣ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Saturnino Ibañez couldn't finish the play. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Melquiades Gurutz, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute.
