Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Axel Tasis took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a rather tough play, Lanegan FC's Alfonso Lamberto got a free kick in the 7th minute. Narciso Millrick hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Lanegan FC's Ruperto Refugio got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Narciso Millrick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruperto Refugio in the 16th minute of play. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruperto Refugio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Genaro Resto fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lanegan FC's protests and gave Genaro Resto a yellow card for diving instead. Alfonso Lamberto kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melquiades Sendoa having to interfere. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abelardo Brais in the 36th minute of play. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Ruperto Refugio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. In the 40th minute of the match Alfonso Lamberto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Abelardo Brais took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Narciso Millrick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ruperto Refugio made a kick off. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 50th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melquiades Sendoa having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Lanegan FC's Benito Sanz threw himself towards the right post 52 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ruperto Refugio, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 60 minutes of play, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Melquiades Sendoa was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Lanegan FC's zone, Axel Tasis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melquiades Sendoa came out of the goal and Axel Tasis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luciano Hori kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Ruperto Refugio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lanegan FC's Melquiades Sendoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Puig in the 72nd minute of play. After having played for 77 minutes, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Puig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Lanegan FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Luciano Hori hit a great ball. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Lanegan FC's goalkeeper Melquiades Sendoa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Lanegan FC's Alfonso Lamberto got a free kick in the 83rd minute. The supporters of Lanegan FC booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ruperto Refugio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 95th minute of play forced Lanegan FC's goalkeeper Melquiades Sendoa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
