Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Simon Salbatore kicked off to start the match. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Evaristo Pena read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. The corner led Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig to fire away a dangerous shot which Evaristo Pena despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 12th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evaristo Pena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Simon Salbatore tried to sneak it across the goal line. Simon Salbatore's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 16 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Evaristo Pena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Primitivo Andino made in the 32nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Felix Montenegro. Evaristo Pena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 37th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Evaristo Pena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Evaristo Pena despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Boca Juniors's Evaristo Pena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 46th minute of play. Evaristo Pena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 47th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 54 minutes into the game, Primitivo Andino threw the ball into play from the sideline. Boca Juniors's Ramon Urtats quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Evaristo Pena stood somewhat misplaced when Cristian Sancho came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 56 minute. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Boca Juniors's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. In the 66th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Andino to maneuver through the defense. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. In the 80th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Benat to maneuver through the defense. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Boca Juniors's Evaristo Pena got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon Salbatore didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 92 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Evaristo Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
