El Salvador's supporters rose to their feet, but Moises Fernandino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leendert Schimmel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elmu Auväärt in the 34th minute of play. Jesus Carvallo kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Elmu Auväärt scored 0-2 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ricardo Zorita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ricardo Zorita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elmu Auväärt's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elmu Auväärt in the 44th minute of play. Moises Fernandino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Elmar Kalinin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elmar Kalinin got free with Ricardo Zorita in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
