DiYaRBeKiR Turkey's Sandu Racoviceanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 15th minute of play. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gennadiy Tytarenko in the 18th minute of play. Sandu Racoviceanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mariano Lacasa was slow to take the kick. During this time Chile's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Xavier Figueroa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sandu Racoviceanu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mariano Lacasa to strike the kick off in the second half. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Sandu Racoviceanu made a huge save. Chile's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
