The audience was convinced that Isaias Jakue's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dante Lacasa was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Maximo Horquizar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 24th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Isaias Jakue in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. Maximo Horquizar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Sporting Buceo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mexico were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Isaias Jakue stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Isaias Jakue had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Isaias Jakue was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Facundo Cadaval's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Maximo Horquizar firmly grabbed it by the left post. It was beautiful to see Mexico's Joel Gaona in action when he in the 64th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Macos Graciani hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Sporting Buceo made a substitution. Xinto Carreiras replaced Isaias Jakue. In the 68th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Macos Graciani to maneuver through the defense. Xinto Carreiras blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dante Lacasa having to make a save. Thanks to some nice moves Facundo Cadaval could shoot a difficult shot in the 79th minute, which Maximo Horquizar however easily saved by the left post. Sporting Buceo's Maximo Horquizar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 89th minute of play. Maximo Horquizar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute.
