São Paulo da Floresta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Patricio Costa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 10 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sergio Rengifo. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laerte Bezerra in the 11th minute of play. Sergio Rengifo struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for São Paulo da Floresta. Teodoro Jacinto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Sergio Rengifo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Sergio Rengifo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sergio Rengifo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sergio Rengifo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but Sergio Rengifo slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 37th minute.

The wind increased when Laerte Bezerra made the kick off in the second half. In the 50th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Sergio Rengifo managed to get in a good position for a shot. São Paulo da Floresta's supporters rose to their feet, but Sergio Rengifo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergio Rengifo in the 59th minute of play. São Paulo da Floresta's Teodoro Jacinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 94th minute of play.
