Nichifor Nicolae made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 14th minute of play. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Joel Gaona hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Peruxu came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martin Peruxu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 25th minute of play forced TheBambiTooFurious's goalkeeper Nichifor Nicolae to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, TheBambiTooFurious's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Nichifor Nicolae reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Martin Peruxu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Martin Peruxu really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. After having played for 47 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Mancebo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nichifor Nicolae showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 47th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Nichifor Nicolae threw himself towards the right post 51 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Joel Gaona took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Nichifor Nicolae to make any attempt to save it. In the 55th minute of the match, Lautaro Mancebo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nichifor Nicolae was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Nichifor Nicolae threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 56 minutes into the game, Joel Gaona cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Nichifor Nicolae in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 72 minutes into the match, TheBambiTooFurious's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Nichifor Nicolae reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
